Vent Free Gas Logs 

We have a variety of vent free log sets made by SUPERIOR, MONESSEN, & RH PETERSON. They are designed to be used with the damper closed so 100% of the heat goes into the room and NOT up your chimney! They are much safer then vented gas logs due to they burn 99.5% clean & do not produce soot.  Prices include logs, burner, embers, and remote unless otherwise stated. All sets come in either N.G. or L.P. Labor to install any gas log set in a fireplace that already has a gas line ran to it is only $200.00 (Labor Charge Includes Gas Fittings Needed, Flex Gas Line, & Filling The Firebox Floor With Black Lava Rock. (Up To One Ten Pound Bag, If More Lava Rock Is Required There Will Be An Additional Cost)


Difference Between A Millivolt & Electronic Ignition Burner

MILLIVOLT IGNITION


This style has been around for 40 plus years. With a Millivolt burner you will have a pilot flame that burns all the time. The pilot flame must be lit manually and then you can turn the unit on and off by either a switch or remote. With Millivolt the burner create's its own power so it can be used in case of a power outage. They only require batteries if you have a remote system and even then if the batteries go dead you can still turn the burner on by the switch. This style is time tested and the sets usually last 20 plus years. Monessen millivolt sets do not come with a remote but we can add a Skytech remote to them. The remotes are shown right under the Superior Double Flame Series.



ELECTRONIC IGNITION


This style is fairly new to the industry.  These sets do not have a pilot flame that burns all the time. Instead, when you turn it on, it will light itself, and then when you turn it off everything goes out. Electronic ignition sets do require a power source which it gets from batteries. Monessen sets use four AA batteries. If the batteries are dead then there is NOT a way to manually light the set. The advantage is that they use less gas and also there is no pilot flame that you have to manually light. They also come with the RC300 remote control that will turn the set On/Off, raise and lower the flame height, have a thermostat mode, & a timer mode.

How To Determine What Size Log Set You Need

Although every model log set does require a certain size fireplace to properly operate there is a good rule of thumb to give you an idea. You will need to measure the width of the rear wall of your fireplace. If the width is between 18" - 22" then you will want an 18" log set. If your width is between 22" - 26" then you can go with a 24" log set. If you have more then 26" you can go with a 30" log set. That rule is true for most all millivolt sets. If your interested in an electronic ignition model then they require alittle more space to accommodate the control module.

ALL SUPERIOR GAS LOG SETS ARE A MILLIVOLT STYLE BURNER WHICH MEANS THAT THEY HAVE A PILOT FLAME THAT BURNS ALL THE TIME & NEEDS TO BE MANUALLY LIT.  ONCE THE PILOT IS LIT YOU CAN THEN TURN THEM ON/OFF BY EITHER A REMOTE CONTROL OR SWITCH.

GLOW RAMP SERIES


The Boulder Mountain has a yellow tipped flame coming up through the logs in the back and then a blue flame in the front. There is a GLOW log located in the center of the set and it glows red when heated. This set also has a glowing ember bed and comes with the ProFlame remote.

MEGA FLAME SERIES


The Giant Timbers & Mossy Oak both have two yellow tipped flames coming up through the log stack. They also have an ember bed and come with the ProFlame remote. These sets are an industry leading 19" high from the floor to the highest point of a log. They are designed to fit in larger fireplaces. You must have a minimum height of 28" in your fireplace for these sets to safely operate.

PROFLAME REMOTE


This remote can turn the set on/off. You can adjust the flame up and down with it. It also has TWO thermostat settings. A standard thermostat that operates like your home HVAC system where it cycles from high to off.  It also has a "SMART" mode. When in smart mode the unit will raise & lower the flames on its own to hold the room at the temp you set it at. It tries to not cycle off by lowering to medium when its within 5 degrees of the set temp. Then it will go to its lowest setting when within 2 degrees of the set temp. If the room does go above the set temp it will cycle off until it cools back down below the set temp. It also has a child safety lock out mode.

This set is desinged for use in a see-thru or peninsula (3 sided) fireplace. The logs are finished all the way around. It does not come with a remote but we can add any Skytech remote to it.
